The parish of Campo de Ourique was created by Law 56/2012 that changed the constitution of the parishes of the city of Lisbon, and received the name of the neighborhood of Campo de Ourique. The neighbourhood, former land of farms belonging to Campolide, designed by Frederico Ressano Garcia after the implantation of the Republic in 1910, comprises the rectangle between the streets Ferreira Borges and Tomás de Anunciação, Campo de Ourique and Saraiva de Carvalho.
The parish of Campo de Ourique extends beyond this old quarter of the city, encompassing the former parishes of Santa Isabel and Santo Condestável. In 2% of the territory there are 5% of the buildings and 4% of the dwellings, families and individuals, which gives it twice the density of the city.
The parish of Campo de Ourique occupies today almost all the territory that in 1741 was attributed to the then created parish of Santa Isabel. This parish would be dismembered centuries later, in 1959, to give rise to the parish of Santo Condestável.
Now, with the administrative reorganization of the city of Lisbon, there is only one parish - Campo de Ourique.
